What is Architecture?
Architecture is the art and science of designing buildings and other structures. It’s not just about making buildings look nice; it’s about making sure the buildings are safe, comfortable, and useful for the people who will use them.

Who is Architect ?
An architect is a professional who designs buildings and other structures. They think about how a building will look, how it will be used, and how to make sure it is strong and lasts for a long time.
Activities an Architect can do
- Design
- Planning
- Supervision

Interconnection of Architecture with other field
- 1. Engineering
Ensures the building is strong ,stable and function
2. Urban Planning
Relationship: Urban planners help determine where buildings can be constructed, while architects design the buildings

themselves to fit within the planned urban framework.
3. Interior Design
Relationship: Architects and interior designers work together to ensure that the interior spaces of buildings are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable.
4. Construction and Construction Management
Relationship: Architects and construction managers work closely to ensure that the building is built according to the design plans, on time, and within budget.

5. Art and Design
Relationship: Art influences the aesthetics of architecture. Architects use artistic principles to create buildings that inspire
people, and collaborate with artists to incorporate art into the built environment.

6. History and Preservation
Relationship: Architects work with historians and preservationists to restore or protect significant buildings and landmarks. The goal is to ensure that old buildings are kept in good condition while respecting their historical value.

Economics
Relationship: Architects must balance their designs with the financial constraints of the project. They may need to work with economists or financial advisors to ensure that a building can be constructed within budget while meeting the project’s objectives.
7. Law and Building Codes
Relationship: Architects work with legal experts and regulatory bodies to ensure that their designs comply with all relevant laws and building codes, ensuring the safety and legality of the construction.
8. Psychology
Relationship: Architects use principles from psychology to create environments that are comfortable and conducive to productivity, relaxation, or healing. For instance, hospitals are designed with calming colors and natural light to help patients feel better, while offices are designed for collaboration and focus.

Key Elements of Architecture
- Function:
Buildings must serve their purpose, like a house for living or a school for learning.
9. Form:
How the building looks: its shape, size, and design.
10. Space:
How the inside of the building is arranged to be practical and comfortable.
11. Structure:
The framework that keeps the building strong and safe, using materials like steel, concrete, or wood.
12. Aesthetics:
The beauty of the building, using color, design, and shape to make it look good.
